Jacques Preval nominates Prime Minister, September 26, 2006

Preval has appointed to the position of Prime Minister the former Education Minister and Prime Minister of Preval’s first term from 1996-2001, 58 year old agronomist Jacques Edouard Alexis. Alexis, as official head of government, would appoint the vast majority of posts in the administration. Alexis believes when asked directly that Aristide will return to Haiti, but not at the present time.
