Evo Morales finds common ground with the U.S., February 20, 2006

President Evo Morales agreed to a common drug policy with the United States, which involves eliminating excess coca crops by force, while allowing the cultivation of small amounts of coca crops by indigenous peoples for medicinal and cultural purposes – the defining line being any area that exceeds 40 x 40 meters. Evo Morales, however, went back on one of his campaign promises: to expel foreign Drug Enforcement Agents from Bolivia.
