Honduras, El Salvador Flooding Kill 39, June 28, 2005

Over three days of flooding, over 39 people have been reported dead as a result of their homes being carried away by mudslides, including a bus carrying a non-professional soccer team, which plunged below flood waters, killing 21 of the 40 passengers. The flooding comes on the heels of Hurricane Adrian, which was the first hurricane to hit at the beginning of the Hurricane Season. Floods and rainstorms are common in South and Central America during the rainy season, which lasts from May to October.
