Study: Puerto Ricans happiest people in the world, April 12, 2005 According to the World Values Survey based at the University of Stockholm in Sweden, out of 120 nations including the United States and Western Europe, Puerto Ricans rank the happiest in terms of coherence and satisfaction with their own lives. The survey does not indicate happiness, only amount of cohesion with one’s own life. For example, Puerto Rico, an island of 4 million, has nearly one suicide each day, three out of five of them hangings.
