Radio Journalist Julio Hernando Palacio Sanchez, an outspoken anti-corruption radio personality that hosted "El Viento," was, according to police, assassinated by gunmen on a pair of motorcycles. The radio personality was able to drive back to his home despite his injuries, where he died amongst his wife and children. The assassins were believed to have crashed their cycle 100 yards away, with one of them possibly injured. The murder took place in Cucuta, near the border of Colombia with Venezuela. Colombia is among the most dangerous places in the world for Journalists; over 156 reporters have been killed between 1977 and 2004.
