Jimmy Carter hosts Chavez, TV Kingpin, June 21, 2004

President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela met with Jimmy Carter and a political foe, Gustavo Cisneros, owner of Venevision Television, which has near constantly been displaying anti-Chavez advertisements leading up to his recall vote on August 15, as well as the allegedly being involved in a plot with paramilitaries that attempted to assassinate the Venezuelan President. Chavez states that he met with Cisneros because "he does not hate his enemies," as well as discussions on supporting the constitutional process as well as relations with the media of Venezuela.
