Recall Referendum Set in Venezuela, June 10, 2004

According to the National Electoral Council in Venezuela, a recall referendum has been scheduled for August 15, 2004. The recall could potentially oust President Hugo Chavez days before the five-year mark of his six-year term, and within 30 days elect a new president. In order to do this, the opposition must obtain 3.8 million votes.
