Aristide Returns to Caribbean, March 15, 2004

Over the objections of both Haiti and the United States, exiled former Haitian President Jean Bertrande Aristide returns to the Caribbean after leaving his place of exile, Bangui in the Central African Republic, to board a flight for Jamaica, once there taking a helicopter to Ocho Rios. The former Haitian President claims the reason for the flight is to see his two daughters, however, the acting president of Haiti, decried Aristide for 'meddling,' and removed the Haitian envoy from Kingston. Aristide was ousted on February 29th as rebels approached the Haitian capital, taking a gulfstream jet to the Central African Republic.
