Aristide Flees Haiti, March 2, 2004

Former Haitian President Aristide went into temporary exile in the Central African Republic. His later accusations of being kidnapped and forced to leave by the U.S. were dismissed as "nonsense" by the Bush administration. In the meantime, Alexandre Boniface, the former head of the Haitian Supreme Court has been sworn in as the new interim president.
