Brazil's Worker's Party Increasingly Implicated in Corruption, February 16, 2004

A senior government official, Waldomiro Diniz, was fired on Friday after a videotape surfaced showing him soliciting campaign contributions for Worker's Party candidates in exchange for political favors. President Lula da Silva's Worker's Party denies any affiliation with Diniz, and is attempting to distance itself from this and several recent scandals which continue to undermine its declaration to be corruption-free.
