U.S. and Mexico to Discuss Reparations for Bracero Program, February 8, 2004

U.S. Interior Department officials have agreed to meet with a group of over 2,000 that forced its way onto Mexican President Fox's ranch on Saturday. The group is demanding they be paid the 10% withheld from workers' paychecks during the Bracero Program, from 1942-1964. The money was withheld as part of a pension and savings plan to be paid upon return to Mexico.
