The Summitt of the Americas, a conference by world leaders of all 34 nations in the American Hemisphere, met in Monterrey, Mexico on Monday. It has opened amidst of a firestorm of criticism of President Bush's desire to ban what are deemed "corrupt" nations from the organization, and tensions between the U.S. and the leftist regimes in Brazil and Venezuela that oppose hemisphere-wide free trade.
