Slaying of Key "Dirty War" Witness in Mexico, December 5, 2003

The murder of Horacio Barrientos, a key witness to testify against many of those involved in Mexico's "Dirty War" against the left, has increased fear and suspicion in Mexico.  Following this, the disappearance of former police chief Isidro Galeana, who is now considered a fugitive, is making Prosecutor Carillo Prieto's case more difficult.
