Peru Cabinet Submits Resignations, June 23, 2003

Peru's prime minister, Luis Solari, announced today Monday, June 23, 2003, that he and his cabinet will step down in order to garner support for Alejandro Toledo's government that seems to be quickly deteriorating in the eyes of popular support. Analysts explain that this move will allow Toledo to reappoint cabinet members that are closer in tune with the opposition and with Peruvian citizens who have lost confidence in promises of reform.
