Argentina and IMF reach agreement, January 17, 2003

Argentina and the IMF end nearly a year of negotiaons as Argentina pays the IMF $1 billion of its current debt. Argentina, in the midst of its worst economic crisis in decades, will receive approximately $6 billion in refinancing of current loans in return for the payment.
