ISLA Online trial access is now available, Nov-Dec 2007

I'm pleased to announce the library has trial access to ISLA Online through December 2007. Information Services Latin America (ISLA) provides a press monitoring service tracking coverage on every Latin American country from the New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Financial Times, Manchester Guardian, Christian Science Monitor, Wall Street Journal and Miami Herald on a monthly basis since 1970. Coverage is culled for redundancy, organized by country, arranged within each country by topic, and chronologically within each topic. I encourage you to take a look at this resource, now available electronically to all students, faculty and associates at isla.lmi.net.

Having a trial to any database does not imply the library will  automatically follow up with a subscription for it after the trial ends. Please send me (gayle.williams@fiu.edu) your comments on if this resource would be useful for your work. They will help me determine if I should request a subscription for ongoing access.
