LACIC Faculty Advisory Committee, September 2005

The Latin American and Caribbean Information Center (LACIC) relies upon the FIU faculty to contribute their support and expertise to shape LACIC’s programs and develop its services. To this end, LACIC will inaugurate a new LACIC Faculty Advisory Committee to help shape the direction of LACIC’s services to support and promote Latin American and Caribbean Studies at FIU Libraries and throughout the University.

The Committee shall be composed of faculty representatives from academic units that have strong Latin American and Caribbean Studies programs and/or tracts. The representatives will be nominated by the LACIC Director and the Research Director of the Latin American and Caribbean Center (LACC). All faculty representatives shall serve two-year terms and may be reappointed. The Associate Director for Public Services & Systems at the Library will serve as ex-Officio and all members of Library Administration are encouraged to attend these meetings.

There shall be two regular meetings of the Committee each year, one during each Fall and Spring semester. The LACIC Director will serve as Chair. The inaugural meeting will take place on October 19, 2005.
