LACIC, Biblioteca Nacional José Martí to Exchange Publications, December 2004

LACIC and Cuba's Biblioteca Nacional José Martí (BNJM) have signed an agreement to exchange publications. The two Libraries will exchange duplicate Cuban and Latin American/Caribbean materials in order to enhance both Libraries' collections in these areas. LACIC and the BNJM will use the LACIC Exchange Database, an automated, online system developed to facilitate exchanges, to select duplicate materials.

Catherine Marsicek, the Latin American and Caribbean Information Services Librarian at FIU Libraries, and Elidades I. Acosta Matos, Director of the BNJM, signed the agreement in early December 2004. LACIC is pleased to have such a prestigious national library as an exchange partner.
