Digital LACC Publications Network, January 2005

LACIC is partnering with the Latin American and Caribbean Center (LACC) and the FIU Libraries' Digital Collections Center (DCC) to build the Digital LACC Publications Network. This collaborative initiative will provide full-text, electronic access to past and current publications from LACC, including the former Occasional Paper Series, the current Working Paper Series, LACC Newletters and the LACC periodical publication Hemisphere.

Although all LACC publications are currently available in print format in the FIU Libraries' University Archives collection (search the Library Catalog for location and holdings information), this new digital format will allow for free online access from off campus. The Digital LACC Publications Network is part of a larger Library initiative to build an institutional repository of FIU Publications.

As a first step in this process, LACIC is asking for non-exclusive digital copyright permission from authors. This allows the publications to be distributed full-text and electronically. If you receive such a request and have any questions, please contact Catherine Marsicek, LACIC Librarian, at

LACC is also revitalizing the LACC Working Paper Series as a forum for interdisciplinary scholarship - continuing the publication of papers on a wide range of subjects relating to Latin America and the Caribbean. If you are interested in contributing to this series, please contact Dr. Mike Collier, Research Director of LACC, at
