Marian Goslinga (Bibliographer) and Catherine Marsicek (Information Services Librarian) attended the annual ACURIL (Association of Caribbean University, Research and Institutional Libraries) conference in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, May 27-31, 2002. The theme of the conference was "The New Librarian.Com." Marian conducted a workshop on "Internet Resources for the Caribbean," which focused on U.S.-generated databases dealing with the area.
Both also attended the annual SALALM (Seminar on the Acquisition of Latin American Library Materials) conference entitled "Trends
and Traditions in Latin American and Caribbean History" sponsored by Cornell University, June 1-4, 2002. In Ithaca, Marian chaired a panel with the title "Latin American Feminism in Historical Perspectives: Dos Juanas y una Flor" and presented a paper entitled "Sor Juana and Her Closet."
Catherine Marsicek also attended the VI Coloquio de Tecnologías Aplicadas a los Servicios de Información of ANABISAI, the Venezuelan Association of Academic Libraries from June 12-14, 2002, where she gave a talk on the "American Library Association and International Cooperation Initiatives."
