Letras Cubanas - Cuban Literary Journal, April 2005

The FIU Libraries just purchased the complete run of Letras Cubanas, published in Cuba in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Letras Cubanas is an important journal specializing in literary criticism, history and literary biographies.

The pages are filled with some of the most important figures in Cuban literature and the humanities: Miguel Barnet, Virgilio Lopez Lemus, Alberto Garrandés, Leonardo Padura Fuentes, Roberto Fernández Retamar, Marilyn Bobes, Rosa Ileana Boudet, among others.

The FIU Libraries are among only a handful of libraries in the country to own all volumes - from año 1 (1986) to año 20 (1994). Letras Cubanas is shelved in the UP Periodicals Collection, call #PQ7382.5 .L47.
