Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez Frías, whose populism and authoritarian tendencies have caused controversy and spurred discontent among many Venezuelans, has nonetheless had his popularity proven by the recent failure of the recall referendum in Venezuela. The overwhelming majority voted to keep Chavez in office for the remainder of his term, a vote that is being challenged by the opposition. This sort of visible contrast between opposition and supporters is illustrated in a variety of titles on Chavez, which the library has recently acquired. Most of these fall under the rubris of current events and politics, and political science. A number of the titles are presented below.
